After November and December's crazy Christmas rush, it was time to get started on Valentine's 2022! Designing Valentine's products is always a lot of fun- I love working with the vibrant pinks and reds.
I like to buy my flowers in small batches as I see them, to keep my hair flower collection unique and fresh. I found the fuchsia orchids months ago and knew they were exactly what I wanted for Valentine's. I found the pink roses and the azaleas when mooching about town trying to keep my three year old entertained and boom... Valentine's hair flowers sorted! Onto the shoe clips. Now, I nearly shared a photo of my initial design sketches but they are bad. So bad. Your girl can't draw. So anyway, I'll leave you to picture my God-awful drawings and we'll skip over that bit of the design process. So all that's left is to cut, glue, sew and boom... Valentine's is sorted!
My aim when designing a new product range is always to make them as versatile as possible. Just want a little hint at a Valentine's outfit? Shoe clips or a hair scarf are perfect for that! Want to go all out for a Valentine's Pin Up look? Why not layer hair flowers (I think I've comfortably managed 4 on a Dita bun before), tie a hair scarf in a bow around your bag, wear a matching brooch and shoe clips. However you want to style your look, go for it!
It's always tough to pick favourites from a new product range but I particularly love the tulle shoe clips and the pink rose hair flower, so I think I'll be wearing them for Valentine's day.
